Development of greenery in the village of Husinec and the town of Klecany
Abstract: An old proverb says that green heals. It affects human health, especially in human settlements, and its role is, without exaggeration, multifaceted. It has a positive effect on air quality and noise levels in the area, retains water in the landscape, cools the environment through evaporation, reflects or absorbs solar radiation, influences the heat island effect and, last but not least, contributes to the well-being of residents and the image of the city. Settlements are gradually experiencing an increase in traffic, unplanned construction of warehouses, houses or apartments and other development sites without regard to existing and historic green spaces, including the permeability of the landscape. There is a need to preserve, maintain and develop green spaces in settlements and open countryside. Archive maps (e.g. cadastral maps), orthophoto maps showing the development of the area, available information on the development of the settlement, archive photographs, paintings and many other materials can be used as a basis for the basic design of green spaces in settlements. In the village of Husinec and in the town of Klecany, greenery seems to have started to disappear... Both are located in the Central Bohemia region, about 12 kilometres north of the capital, Prague. Not surprisingly, they are under strong suburbanisation pressure, which is affecting the development of the settlements. By comparing these seemingly similar yet different settlements, a number of recommendations have been made to add greenery, improve the road network or improve permeability. The conceptual proposal is based on a preliminary analysis of the development and existing state of green spaces in both settlements. An analysis of the future growth of the village/town was prepared according to the Master Plan of the Husinec Municipality and the Master Plan of the Klecany Town. The final diagram proposes the addition of isolation green areas, the completion of the road network, the redesign of the street network and the development of the public transport system.
